REW Computing Inc. is a Canadian, privately held corporation that has been providing eDiscovery support services (project management, consulting, forensic and non-forensic data collection, structured data transformation services, and litigation readiness assessments) since 2007 to corporations and clients in the legal services industry. Our goal is to assist clients by providing a centralized project management team and approach focused on their eDiscovery and IT project needs through our FAST & SECURE© approach and methodology.

Today, REW Computing Inc. has grown from a single team member to an active, knowledgeable, professional team of four core employees and a small supporting administrative team of part-time employees. Since 2006 we have worked with clients in: automotive manufacturing; discovery support; financial; pharmaceutical; landscape architecture and law firms, all in varying capacities from simply being a supporting team member (developer, support person, the “IT” guy) to filling management type roles (IT manager, acting director, project manager).

Our goal is to assist clients by providing a centralized project management team and approach focused on their eDiscovery and IT project needs. (See our service descriptions for more information).

The arrows in the logo are equivalent to the “Sony Walkman” and cassette tape technologies, where 2 arrows to the right meant “forward” and 2 arrows to the left meant “rewind”. In our case, 2 arrows to the right means “looking forward” while 2 arrows to the left means “learning from the past”.

REW Computing slogan - "looking forward, learning from the past". REW Computing offers services in eDiscovery, project management and IBM Lotus Notes support for Newmarket, Toronto, the GTA, and Ontario, Canada.

This “Looking Forward, Learning from the Past” is especially critical in dealing with a number of aspects of eDiscovery… To move forward in your litigation, you need to understand what was done in the past, and any or all changes that might have impacted your company to be able to properly identify, collect, and preserve potentially relevant data. It is this balance of experience and knowledge that we bring to the table.

We are located in Newmarket Ontario, in the Heart of Historic Downtown, where we enjoy the look and feel of the community. This allows us opportunities to take a break and walk away from our desks to enjoy nature and get a renewed perspective on projects that we are working on.

The REW Computing logo as it was in 1993, 1996 and since 2006. REW Computing offers services in eDiscovery, project management and IBM Lotus Notes support for Newmarket, Toronto, the GTA, and Ontario, Canada.

In 1993, Richard Wessel founded REW Computing as a sole-proprietorship. The original focus was on “Bringing the Computer Down To Earth” and providing technical support services to small businesses and individuals.

Richard gained invaluable technical experience moving through the industry sectors of Education, Health Care, Non-Profit Organizations, Software Development and Automotive Manufacturing. He also achieved a comprehensive understanding of the ever-changing world of Information Technology. During these times REW Computing continued to exist, but only in a part time capacity.

In 1999, REW Computing began consulting in Lotus Domino development and administration. After many contracting opportunities the demand for Richard’s talents and the responsibilities of his role necessitated a full-time position in the automotive industry. Again, REW Computing moved to the back burner.

REW Computing was reactivated in 2006, after Richard seized the opportunity to go out on his own and make REW Computing his full-time focus. In 2007, REW Computing was incorporated.

In October 2017 we are excited to celebrate 10 years as an incorporated entity. Having moved from being a one man operation to now having a team of qualified experts and a number of clients from various sectors.
